In Vitro Guidelines for Human-Derived Research

The Iraqi Journal of Industrial Research adheres to the ethical standards set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All research involving human-derived materials will be conducted in accordance with these principles.

1. Ethics Approval (if available)

For all in vitro studies involving human-derived materials (e.g., cells, tissues, genetic material), ethics approval should be obtained from a recognized Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee, where available, to ensure compliance with ethical standards.

2. Informed Consent

Authors must ensure informed consent is obtained from donors or their legal representatives, clearly stating the research purpose, any associated risks, and the voluntary nature of participation.

3. Protection of Privacy and Confidentiality

Donor privacy must be safeguarded through anonymization and secure data handling. Institutional and legal standards must be observed to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information.

4. Restriction to In Vitro Studies

The Iraqi Journal of Industrial Research only accepts in vitro research and does not publish studies involving in vivo testing on human subjects. Researchers should ensure their methods are strictly controlled and conducted outside of living organisms.

5. Minimizing Risk and Ensuring Benefit

Risks related to human materials should be minimized, with a clear demonstration of scientific benefit without undue ethical concerns.

6. Transparency and Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Researchers must disclose study details, funding sources, and any conflicts of interest to maintain transparency and integrity in research.

7. Ethical Oversight Compliance

Adherence to ethical guidelines is required throughout the study. Any protocol deviations or adverse events should be promptly reported to the relevant ethics authorities.

8. Ethical Statement Requirement

Authors are required to include an ethical statement as the first paragraph in the “Experiment” or “Methodology” section of their manuscript. This statement should specify the ethical standards followed, confirm informed consent, and note any IRB or ethics committee approval obtained (if available).

9. Data Reporting and Publication

All results should be reported honestly, with respect to privacy standards, to advance scientific knowledge. The journal encourages data-sharing practices that respect confidentiality and ethical guidelines.
