Complaint Policy

Dear Authors, Reviewers, and Readers,

Thank you for choosing to engage with us at the Iraqi Journal of Industrial Research (IJOIR). Your satisfaction is our priority. If you have any complaints or wish to file an appeal, we encourage you to reach out to us promptly.

Procedure for Complaints:

Initial Resolution:

Concerns regarding published papers should initially be addressed by reaching out to the corresponding author for direct discussion. If the author is unresponsive, readers may contact the Editorial Office for further assistance. The Editorial Office will oversee the investigation, involving complainants to resolve any issues.

Formal Investigation:

For complaints regarding scholarly validity, ethics, or legal aspects of a paper or its review process, the Editorial Office will thoroughly investigate. Supported by the Editorial Manager and approved by the Editor-in-Chief, the investigation will ensure adherence to publication ethics, possibly involving external field experts, publisher authorities, or legal advice if necessary.

Response Timeframe:

- Complaints will be acknowledged within 5 business days of submission.

- The Editorial Office will review and begin investigation within 7 business days.

- Complex cases involving misconduct will be resolved within 30 business days, with updates provided to the complainant.

Appeals Process:

If a complainant is not satisfied with the decision, he/she may file an appeal within 14 business days of receiving the outcome. The appeal will be reviewed by senior members of the editorial board or an independent third party, with a final decision communicated within 21 business days.

Communication:

All decisions, including potential corrections, retractions, or other actions, will be made by the Editor-in-Chief or the Editorial Manager and will be communicated to the authors and complainants. Ongoing updates will not always be provided unless new information arises, but the complainant will be notified when a final decision is reached.

Confidentiality and Conduct:

- Complaints, including anonymous ones, will be investigated. Confidentiality will be respected within reasonable limits.

- Personal criticisms or opinions will not be entertained. The Editorial Office reserves the right to cease communication if it becomes discourteous or if the complaint is unsubstantiated.

Contact Information and Additional Details:

When contacting the Editorial Office at info@ijoir.gov.iq, please provide:

1. The title and details of the paper

2. The nature of the complaint

3. Any prior correspondence with the authors

4. Any conflicts of interest
